High School Technology Access

Overview

At our high school, technology is a centerpiece of our curriculum and school design.  All students have equitable classroom access to technology to support student achievement and academic standards in the classroom and to support lifelong learning and success in our digital society.

Features and accomplishments of our technology plan

Software and web-based applications in the classroom

  • Use of specialized applications such as Fathom and Geometer’s SketchPad in math classes enabling more inquiry-based lesson plans
  • Use of spreadsheets in 9th grade Foundations of Science class to add graphing and linear modeling to labs
  • Use of web-based specialized drill programs in Chemistry to teach equation balancing
  • Use of computers in Biology to write and share reports
  • Use of recording tools and internal PhotoBooth camera in History class to produce historical newscasts from 1920’s
  • Teachers use the Pearson PowerSchool system to track attendance, assignments, and grades.  Parents and students use the same system to see attendance, assignments, and grades.
